Calling for Proposals – 2023 Virginia Land Conservation and Greenways Conference
Virginia’s United Land Trusts (VaULT) is pleased to invite you to be a part of the 2023 Virginia Land Conservation and Greenways Conference. The conference will be taking place April 25-27, 2023, at Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA. Harrisonburg is in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, conveniently situated between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Alleghenies. Our 2023 theme is “Cultivate Connection”, which is a fitting nod to the Shenandoah Valley’s significant contribution to the agricultural sector in Virginia.
At our last conference, speakers wowed us with fantastic research, projects, and collaborations. The conference planning committee hopes that VaULT members are once again willing to share their unique conservation stories and partnerships!
There are four primary tracts, and the proposal form has a list of suggested topics to help with brainstorming:
- Trails, Greenways, and Blueways
- Conservation Challenges and Opportunities
- Community Partnerships
- Best Practices for Easement Holders
Regular speaking sessions are 90 minutes, while shorter presentations (45 minutes) can be combined into a longer session. You are also able to present independently or as a team.
All proposals are due Friday, November 18, 2022, by 5 p.m. For more information and to submit a proposal please click HERE.
Thank you for your continued conservation work and we can’t wait to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Hallie, 2023 Conference Program Chair
