Blue Ridge Land Conservancy
Geographic Region: Working in and around Roanoke, Lynchburg, Danville, and Martinsville.
The Blue Ridge Land Conservancy saves land in western, central, and southern Virginia. An accredited land trust, BRLC was founded in 1996 and primarily works with rural landowners to donate conservation easements, with special emphasis on farms, mountains and ridgelines, forests and waterways. BRLC also engages the community through educational and fun weekend outdoor adventures and programs with local school systems on conserved lands. BRLC is a past recipient of the Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award, the Virginia Watershed Award and Best Preservation of a Scenic Viewshed from Scenic Virginia.
