The New River Land Trust works to protect farmland, forests, open spaces, and historic places in the New River region of Southwest Virginia. We are the only organization whose sole focus is protect the natural, cultural, and historic resources in our service area. The goal of the NRLT is not to conserve every acre of undeveloped land in the New River region, but rather to conserve the land that sustains rural character, traditional livelihoods, and vital natural/cultural resources.
