Geographic Region: The Northern Neck of Virginia: King George, Westmoreland, Richmond, Northumberland and Lancaster Counties.
The Northern Neck Land Conservancy’s (NNLC) mission is to preserve the rural heritage of the Northern Neck by conserving its lands, water, economies and culture for future generations. NNLC has helped landowners preserve thousands of acres and miles of waterfront. An accredited land trust, the NNLC strives to educate landowners and citizens about conservation, holding a large scale educational outreach event every year, “Boots and BBQ”. NNLC has earned the United States Department of Interior’s Partners in Conservation Award, the Virginia Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award and Scenic Virginia’s Scenic Land Preservation Award.
