HVLC In the Community
“It was great to hear our guests say that they never miss this Festival,“ said Liz Friel, HVLC Director. She shared that each year families enjoy unique crafts, face painting, meeting farm animals, bouncing through an outdoor obstacle course, and also touring and learning about the Free Black Settlement at the event site. Leigh Houghland, HVLC Board Member and sponsor (Chesapeake Bank/Chesapeake Wealth Management), was on site volunteering and said “What a great day; bringing history and nature together for the community’s enjoyment is what Historic Virginia Land Conservancy is all about. I even saw bald eagles flying over the event. They seemed to approve of HVLC’s efforts to preserve green space.”
A special thank you to our sponsors Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Wealth Management, Susan and Tom Chamberlain, GuernseyTingle Architects, Towne Bank, and AES Consulting Engineers.
Thank you to our volunteers and Shoofly Dairy Bar, Old City Barbeque, Bubbles the Clown, Teeny Tiny Farm, Tasha’s Own, and James City County Parks and Recreation and James City County Fire Department- all part of the best Fall Fest yet.
