LTV seeking full-time Stewardship Manager
The Land Trust of Virginia is looking for a special individual to fill the full-time position of Stewardship Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS
POSITION: Stewardship Manager
EXEMPT: Full-Time
REPORT TO: Director of Conservation and Stewardship and the Executive Director
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Experience
The Land Trust of Virginia (LTV) is a 25-year-old, 501(c)(3), accredited land trust, located in Middleburg, Virginia. LTV currently holds 151 conservation easements, encompassing over 16,000 acres in 12 counties. The majority of the properties are located in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. LTV works to conserve properties of natural and historical significance.
The role of the Stewardship Manager will be to work with the Director of Conservation and Stewardship and improve our stewardship program.
Key tasks include:
- Reviewing, organizing, and digitizing files for accuracy and completeness
- Developing relationships with landowners
- Working with landowners, preparing letters of interpretation and answering questions
- Conducting site visits to collect and document data
- Conducting and supervising volunteers for monitoring visits of current conservation easements
- Developing comprehensive stewardship reports and following up on any issues of non-compliance
- Preparing GIS mapping
- Preparing baseline documentation reports
- Conducting research related to projects
- Helping with special projects as needed
- Helping to keep website information current
- And any other tasks as needed
Requirements include:
- Minimum 3 years experience with a land trust or similar experience
- B.S. degree in environmental studies preferred
- MS Office proficient
- Must have transportation (will be reimbursed for mileage)
- Must be able to walk through woods and fields in all weather conditions
- Must be willing to explore properties unaccompanied
- Must have excellent communication’s skills, both written and verbal
- Must be proficient in GIS mapping
- Must be reliable
- Must be well organized
- Must be committed to conservation
