NRLT Requesting Grant to Create Nature Park
NRLT is requesting a grant from the Mountain Valley Pipeline Forest Mitigation Fund to purchase a property and create a new park on 330 acres of Brush Mountain.
Due to the property’s location near Heritage and Gateway Parks and Jefferson National Forest, the proposed park would expand an already popular active recreation area. Poverty Creek Trails Coalition, which is working with the Land Trust to obtain grant funding, would work with the county to help develop the park’s trail system.
