Ellen Shepard

Ellen has served as Virginia’s United Land Trusts’s executive director since 2016. Prior to that she has worked on conservation issues in various capacities including serving as executive director of the Virginia Conservation Network and conservation organizer for the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter. Ellen served as co-chair of Linwood Holton Elementary School’s award winning outdoor classroom where she worked with hundreds of children, teachers, and community partners to establish the outdoor classroom. Ellen is a graduate of James Madison University and the Virginia Natural Resources Leadership Institute. Ellen lives in Richmond with her husband Brian and dog Wrigley. Both her boys are Virginia Tech students.
